Snap 11 -- Weeping in the Sun

Our willow tree in the sunlight.

I didn't have much time today to take many shots, and I can't say any turned out super wonderful. I kind of like the above shot, even though the focus was supposed to be closer to the front than it is...but oh well! I got a picture to share, haha. :)

Our willow tree is really starting to turn green now (its always one of the first trees to do so), and I thought it looked gorgeous against the sunlight; so I tried to get a picture of that and sort of succeeded ha. Hopefully I do better next time I attempt it!

Snap 10 -- My Love

Our now "elderly" German Shepherd and I's shadows.

Sisi, our German Shepherd, and I took a walk by the river today. In summers past, I'd love taking her for long walks/jogs by the river in the cool evenings. The view was gorgeous, and she was always a happy companion. Not to mention, there is just something magical about being down by the river on a cool summer evening! Unfortunately, she is now "elderly" and has arthritis pain; on top of that, she's not as fit as she once was and long walks are hard on her.

So today, we went for a very short walk and I thought a picture of the both of us (or our shadows, at least!) would be a fitting 365 picture. I also will be including another after this...just to show off Sisi a bit more. :) She spotted two geese before I did, and they caught her attention. It was only after she saw them that I noticed them; and I took this picture before even realizing the two additional posers!

See you tomorrow!

Snaps 7, 8, & 9 -- Spring is Here

Raspberry plants beginning to bloom.

Sun through the trees near the river.

Raspberry plants, again, beginning to bloom. April showers do bring May...greens?

Ugh, I'm awful. This weekend got crazy busy; but I swear, from now on I'll try to be more prompt! Shouldn't be as hard now that the sun is not setting until about 8:30-ish rather than...well, way earlier! Which means that rather than having no time after work, I have a good hour haha.

Anyways, today was pictures in the yard as well as down by the river, once again. The clouds were covering the sun for most of the afternoon (despite no rain), but I did manage to get some decent shots. Hopefully there is even more interesting stuff tomorrow; its finally starting to get green out; though the trees are still rather brown looking. Soon, however, as the buds are noticeable!

I promise to see you tomorrow, and the day after, and so on haha. :)

Snaps 5 & 6 -- Butt, Butt, Butt...it is a Goat!

An older goat at the zoo, eager to eat my friend's hand.

Three of the baby goats, all line up nice and pose-y for me.

Today's (and yesterday's, I'm awful at getting things done) quest took my friend, her sister, and me to the zoo. While its still too cold for many of the animals, and they aren't open for the full season hours, we did find some entertainment watching the goats. They were eating up (no pun intended!) all the attention and such they were getting. When everything else is hiding, why not love some goat?

There was a total of four babies (I believe it was four), and while they didn't let us pet them they did allow for some adorable pictures. The above is just one of my favorites...I could see it on a greeting card with some cheesy (yet hilarious) line! The other goat was an older one who was trying to find food that didn't exist in my friends hand.

Hopefully I'm more productive from now on! I work tomorrow, but hope to go out and take some pictures before work as its supposed to be nice out. :)

Snaps Three & Four -- Findings in the Yard

The eye of our Siberian Husky, Speedy.

The fencing to the pigeon...coop?...with pigeons in the background.

Better late than never, I suppose! Yesterday we had some awful thunderstorms that forced me to shut down my laptop (or watch as the sky-to-ground lightning fried it) therefore making it impossible to get pictures up. Instead, I ventured outside today while the sun was shining. Everything is still brown and dead, I'm sad to report: however, the grass is trying to come in green-like!

Both pictures were taken in my yard. The first is our female husky's eye. She's rather lazy and therefore the most interesting shot I could get was her eye. Meanwhile, our dachsund is far too energetic to take pictures of! The second is of my stepdad's pigeons. While the birds were too skittish to take decent pictures of, the wire made for a fun shot in my opinion!

See you all tomorrow (hopefully ha)!

Snap Two -- Memories Never Lost

Paddles from Triangle Y Camp.

I can honestly say I almost didn't get a photo up today: oops! I woke to thunderstorms this morning, and although the rain stopped the day remained grey. On top of the dreary weather, I got unexpectedly called into work. By the time I got home, studying for my school tests was vital. So, today my "quest" left me using my imagination. I created my own lighting, and took a photo of things that mean much to me.

I attended camp for four years as a camper and one as a counselor (that paddle is not pictured here). Each year, you receive a paddle for other campers and counselors to sign and to have "branded" with the camp sign (a triangle with a y in it). During closing ceremony, you light a candle and as speeches are given and songs are sung, the candle wax drips onto your paddle -- when you miss camp, you are to pick of a piece of wax (hence the wax seen most on the blue paddle).

Hopefully tomorrow I am able to get back outside! I'm not sure how many things in my house are actually photogenic, haha!

Snap One -- Down By the River

The river behind my house.

Today I, Tayler, begin my "quest". A fellow member of a game I play began a 365 day challenge a few days ago, and asked if anyone cared to join her; today, I start my own 365 day challenge -- to post a photo every day for the next year! While my camera is a point-and-shoot, I still love photography and do the best I can with what I have (which also involves paint shop pro). I'm hoping that by taking this challenge, I can improve my work and show the ever-changing world of North Dakota! Really, we aren't snow 365 days a year. The above photo is proof!

My "quest" took my brother and I to the river today. While the lighting was awful, I still managed the above shot. We also had the wonderful opportunity to see two small brown critters we believe were either otters or beavers. Unfortunately, they were under the water or too far away to get a good shot of. Still neat, if you ask me!

Hopefully tomorrow brings better lighting and more neat shots! See you then,

--- Tayler
